Ghostwriter
Getting better results with Ghostwriter
What is Ghostwriter?
Most AI writing tools produce output that is technically correct but sounds like everyone else using the same tool.
Ghostwriter fixes that. It learns from examples of your writing and uses them to shape the output. Not what you think. How you think.
It has two inputs. Writing examples teach cadence, vocabulary and rhythm. Voice rules are explicit instructions about what to do and what to avoid. Together they give the generator a clearer picture of how you write and how you want to sound.
Ghostwriter affects generation only. It does not influence your score.
What should I put in Writing Examples?
Paste content that genuinely sounds like you. Not your best work, your most representative.
What should I put in Voice Rules?
Think of these as instructions to a human ghostwriter. Specific beats generic every time.
Examples that work well:
- Never use emojis
- Keep paragraphs to two or three sentences
- Challenge the obvious answer, not just the wrong one
- End with an observation, not a question
- Use real situations, not hypotheticals
- Avoid phrases like "in today's world" or "now more than ever"
My results still sound generic
Usually one of three things:
Start with the voice rules. Most users see more improvement there than from adding more examples.
Can I use another writer's style?
Yes. But do not paste their writing. Describe what you like about it instead.
Rather than pasting someone's posts, add voice rules like:
- Cynical but not bitter
- Exposes contradictions other people miss
- Dry humour, used sparingly
- Challenges corporate thinking without being preachy
- Short paragraphs, rarely more than two sentences
Combine their stylistic characteristics with your own experiences and opinions. That combination is where the most distinctive output comes from.
Direct, Measured and Sharp still matter
Ghostwriter controls how the post sounds. Direct, Measured and Sharp control how the argument is made.
The same voice works across all three. Try generating the same topic in each style. You will hear your voice stay consistent while the argument changes shape.
A simple starting point
If you are not sure where to begin:
Most users get better results from improving their voice rules than from adding more examples.
